On Tuesday December 13, 2022, on behalf of the Vice President, H.E. Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, Hon Joseph Cudjoe, the Minister for Public Enterprises and MP for Effia Constituency launched the National Code for Corporate Governance.

In his remarks, the minister pointed out that the country for the first time has a unified code of corporate governance, which synchronizes various industry and sector-specific codes of governance.

It aims to streamline national corporate governance practices and encourage their widespread application in all companies operating in the public and private sectors of the economy.

The National Code of Corporate Governance was created by the Institute of Directors to serve as a blueprint for streamlining corporate governance in the country.

The Vice President suggested that IoD Ghana should consider incorporating a code of good corporate governance in the curricula of educational institutions in Ghana, especially universities and colleges, in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Public Companies under the ongoing Directors Bill.
