The office of Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II has reacted after disparaging comments of Prophet Badu Kobi about Asante women went viral – The prophet had advised men not to marry Asante women because according to him they were greedy – The comments, among others by Badu Kobi, have brought a lot backlash for the ‘man of God’ – Otumfuo’s Manhyia Palace has joined in with a post on Facebook urging against tribalism The Manhyia Palace, the official seat of the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, has reacted after the founder and leader of Glorious Wave Church International, Prophet Emmanuel Badu Kobi, made disparaging remarks against Asante women in a recent interview.
Going further, the renowned prophet advised men not to marry Asante women because of the greed they bring into marriage. Badu Kobi’s statements deemed by many as tribalistic has triggered a lot of reactions from a section of Ghanaians with condemning him. In a subtle reaction to Badu Kobi’s unguarded comment, the Manhyia Palace has called for an end to tribalism. Emphasizing the pride in being an Asante, the Palace’s official Facebook handle wrote:
“Proud Asante. Say no to tribalism. #SayNoToTribalism.The post came with artwork which had the same inscription against tribalism on it.
Meanwhile, Badu Kobi has responded to his critics saying he is beyond social media bashing, and that nothing destroys human beings than an inherited attitude.
